Madness it is...

I'm back from vacation; well relaxed and slightly scalded from Orlando's potent UV rays. As tradition calls, I also burned up two more vacation days this week to catch the opening round of the NCAA men's basketball tournament. Don't worry, I earned permission from my manager.

Thirty six hours of hoops later, including a double-overtime Siena/Ohio State thriller, I'm again addicted to the madness. My bracket is holding up fairly well and I garnered a 26-6 opening round prediction record, which begs the question: how are your picks? Cleveland State, anyone?

Before tomorrow's second round action, I wanted to share some information from two emails that I received while I was out of town.

First, Christian Matthews (Taylor PR) of the Coke Zero team, would like to draw your attention to www.tastethemadness.com, a combination of Coke Zero and CBS trying to highlight the fan. Check out footage from hardcore college hoops fans.

Johnny Testa, of Askmen.com, passed along a great article: "5 things that you may or may not have known about March Madness." Number 5 on the list continues to hold true, though a couple of #16 seeds - East Tennessee State and Morehead State - forgot their roles for a little while during each game.

'Til next time, I'll leave you with this hysterical video from the good folks over at the Onion: NCAA Expands March Madness To Include 4,096 Teams.
