Three first names. One first love. Basketball.
About PeterRobertCasey.com:
A topical blog about the interplay of basketball and social media.
About me:
I have a few primary roles: basketball scribe, media credentialed microblogger and Chief of Communications for Team Chemist, LLC.
Team Chemist, LLC, is a personnel management tool designed to help NBA front offices make better decisions when signing or trading for players. We study NBA players' personalities and past behavior to determine what situations and roles allow them to perform at their best, and we've built that information into an online web application.
Prior to co-founding Team Chemist, Peter crafted winning corporate sponsorship proposals for the Entertainer's Basketball Classic at Rucker Park, and spent 5 years managing strategic communications for student insurance plans at Columbia University's Teachers College, the nation's largest and most comprehensive graduate school of education.
A little more about me:
I'm a regular contributor to The Huffington Post Sports Section, and my work has appeared on several sites, including ESPN The Magazine, Bounce, SLAMonline and Twitip.
In 2009, St. John's made me the first media credentialed microblogger in college basketball history, and I was labeled a "pioneer" for altering the composition of St. John's press row. My story of social media success was featured in the New York Times, and on the pages of ESPN, NCAA.com, Sports Illustrated, New York Magazine, Mashable and PR 2.0.
I earned an M.A. in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University, and a B.S. in Business Economics from SUNY College at Oneonta.
